Licences for Organisations
CCLI can provide licence solutions for many Christian organisations, shops, businesses and itinerant workers.
As well as providing our own licences, we’re experienced in helping organisations connect with the right copyright agencies to ensure they can move forward with the confidence they’re covered.
The information below provides a summary of what we can provide for each type of organisation. Please contact us for further information and guidance or to arrange licence cover.
Christian Bookshops
Showing films and playing music in your store can help to generate sales and create a great atmosphere. CCLI can provide a licence solution enabling you promote many popular films. To play music for ambience or promotion, you’ll require a PRS for Music licence from CCLI as well as a licence directly from Phonographic Performance Ltd. (PPL).
Christian Organisations and Conference Centres
CCLI can usually provide licences for Christian businesses, event organisations and conference centres to reproduce song words in services and meetings, photocopy sheet music and show films/film scenes. If you need a comprehensive and affordable source of lyrics and sheet music, you can get this from SongSelect®.
Depending on the circumstances, conference centres can require that incoming churches/groups hold their own licences as an alternative to holding your own.
CCLI can provide 14-day event versions of the Church Copyright Licence™, Music Reproduction Licence, Church Video Licence™ and PPL Church Licence. If your event will include live music performed outside of Acts of Worship, you will probably need a music performance licence directly from PRS for Music.
Please complete our sales enquiry form or call us for guidance on how to cover your event.
Mobile/Itinerant Workers
CCLI can cover the various activities undertaken by itinerant church and schools workers across multiple locations. These include the reproduction of song words, photocopying sheet music and showing films.
These licences are designed for those who work independently and outside of any fixed group of churches such as a circuit, benefice or parish. An itinerant worker’s mobile licence cannot generally be used to cover their home church congregation.
Chaplaincies, Funeral Directors and Crematoria
If you run a hospital, prison or military chaplaincy, funeral directors or crematoria, you may wish to reproduce hymns and worship songs during services and public gatherings.
CCLI can provide simple, affordable licence solutions permitting you to reproduce or photocopy hymn/worship song words and sheet music. Additionally, we can license chaplaincies to show scenes from many popular films.
If you need a comprehensive and affordable source of lyrics and sheet music, you can also subscribe to SongSelect®.
Itinerant chaplains: Please see Mobile/Itinerant workers above.
Wedding Organisers
Whether you’re a wedding organiser, a church, the couple or their family, you’ll want to ensure the wedding you’re planning is special. However, ensuring all the necessary copyright licences are in place can be a headache. CCLI is here to take away any uncertainty and help ensure you’re fully covered.
When preparing an Order of Service, the church is responsible for ensuring copyright permission has been obtained and full acknowledgements included for any song words, readings, poems, illustrations etc. that are reproduced.
If you intend to record the service you may need one or more licences directly from PRS for Music.
